Celebrating New Client Wins

16th August 2018

Hutchison Catering are celebrating the acquisition of new catering contracts for several secondary schools in North Yorkshire.

From September 2018 onwards, working with The Hope Learning Trust, Hutchison Catering will be working with Manor Church of England Academy in York to provide tasty, freshly-prepared school meals to over 900 of their students.

In addition, they will also continue to work with The Vale of York Academy, which is set to enjoy a relaunch this year with a new and improved breakfast area for Year 7 pupils, as well as several other recently-acquired client schools including Guiseley School in Leeds and Furrowfield School in Gateshead.

Andrew Hutchison, our co-founder and director, says:

“We are excited to be working with so many great educational establishments. Our menus are designed to be jam-packed with vitamins and minerals to give students the energy and nutrients they need to learn with to the best of their ability.

“At all our venues, we aim to provide a wide range of meals for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike, rotating on a three-week cycle. Hot-food meal options include chicken enchiladas, beef chilli and vegetable quesadillas, alongside British classics such as fish and chips, chicken pie and roast topside of beef. Our street food style options are also very popular.

“By maximising variety in the food that we serve, and using excellent local suppliers, our aim is to provide best possible service to each of our clients, while promoting healthy eating.”

Cathy Beaton, Director of Administration and Finance at Guiseley School, with whom Hutchison Catering already work, comments:

“We are delighted to have appointed Hutchison Catering to provide the catering for our school. Over the last year, Andrew and Colin Hutchison and their staff have worked tirelessly to create a menu that is specific to our school and the food is proving very popular with our students. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them for years to come.”

A variety in diet through healthy food has always been Hutchison Catering’s key aim, and to combat the well-documented growing epidemic of obesity in our communities, particularly among young people. Believing that “healthy food equals happy students”, they provide schools, and all their clients, with nourishing meals every day.

Operating across the whole of the North East of England, Hutchison Catering work with over 25 schools and feed around 7000-8000 students every day. We also work with several business and industry sites, such as Lynemouth Power Station in Ashington and the Wilton Centre in Teesside. We are also well-known for providing the catering for the Great North Run and holding the famous Pasta Party each year for the runners on NewcastleGateshead Quayside.
